PRAHA, ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA

The second weekend in March was dedicated to getting to know Prague a little better. As I have been here for over a month at this point and haven’t really seen that much, I made it a priority to get to see a bit of the city. Nasti was in Prague that weekend so we explored together.
The first day we went for late lunch / early dinner at ‘Potrefená Husa Hybernská‘, a moderately priced restaurant & bar that served tasty food like burgers and steak.

Afterwards we walked through the city and enjoyed the last bit of sunshine before sunset. We also stopped at my favourite doughnut dealer ‘Donuterie‘ to relish the great doughnut offering they have, but unfortunately it was already late and they had sold out my beloved raspberry and blueberry flavours. We went for plum instead.

The next day, Saturday, we went to a cute little market around the corner of my apartment and I got myself a beautiful czech handmade backpack (by Tadella) that I have been using frequently since – it serves me well, is spaceous, and even has a nice laptop pocket so I do not need to open it entirely all the time (I am not sponsored by the way – I wish).

Afterwards we had Wine and a cheese & ham platter at ‘Winebar 0,75 [Sedmička]‘. I must say I do not exactly have a predilection for Czech wines but still enjoyed the experience a lot. It is a cozy and somewhat fancy atmosphere with friendly service, yet prices are more than affordable even for the Italian, Austrian & French wines they offer.

Sunday we wanted to visit some museums. Funnily enough, one of the best-known & -rated museums in Prague is the “Museum of Sex Machines“, so of course we had to check it out. NSFW content ahead.

Enough with the spicy stuff, let’s get to something everyone can agree on is cool (except for some people finding it on their wall all of a sudden) – Banksy!
That’s right, there was a Banksy exhibition (“The World of Banksy“) in Prague with prints & copies (no originals to my knowledge) of numerous Banksy works. Interestingly enough, the exhibition was located in a former church, making for a really special and enjoyable atmosphere – and leading to an urge of me to DJ there…
I will show the select few pieces of art I liked the most. Feel free to take your time and scroll through them at your own pace.

“It doesn’t take much to be a successful artist – all you need to do is dedicate your entire life to it. The thing people most admired about Picasso wasn’t his work/life balance.”

After the museum visit we went to ‘Dubliner Irish Pub‘ in the city centre for some food, i.e. a Caesar salad and some garlic bread along with a couple of beers. This concluded a thrilling day of exploring Prague.

Ahoj!
