I started this weekend by treating myself to a nice neapolitan Pizza at San Gennaro, a top-rated pizzeria. The restaurant is located on the side of the Limmat river, downstream from the city centre.

I got a perfect seat as my table allowed me to see people float and swim down the river, a common activity in Zurich to cool off on hot summer days.

Moreover, the pizza was also really good. The location prides itself on using only the freshest ingredients, and after having tried the food for myself I certainly believe them.

After having eaten I walked upstream along the river to see where people entered the river and get a feel for the area.

The next day my mother and sister came to visit. We had selected Seerose, a restaurant on the western side of Zürisee, as our location to dine that evening. But while the lakeside view and atmosphere were great, the food was nothing out of the ordinary and the octopus was not the most tender.

Afterwards we walked into town for drinks at Barfly’z and spotted a beautiful Porsche 356 Speedster cabriolet.

The next morning we met up to walk through town a little before going to Milchbar for brunch.

Afterwards we walked the city a little. Fortunately the weather was nice and the skies were blue, so we enjoyed exploring.

The good weather also served us well for swimming in the river later. Having spotted the entry points for swimming two days earlier and wanting to make the experience for ourselves, we found ourselves a calm spot on the side of the river where we had picnic and used a pool mattress to drift down the river for a while before walking back up alongside the water.

Ade!
