Prague: The First Day

PRAHA, ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA

After an easy-going arrival at the student accomodation the day before, my girlfriend Nasti and I took the day to get a first glance at the city.

By chance, the station we got off (právnická fakulta) was right on the axis to our brunch restaurant, so we came past some nice sights and fancy shops.

Staroměstské Náměstí, the oldest square in town, facing Golz-Kinsky Palace (Palác Golz-Kinských) on the left and Teyn Church (Chrám Matky Boží před Týnem) in the back

After a short walk, the first stop for us was brunch at “VENUE”, a top-rated restaurant with tasty food and drinks at western prices. They offer all-day brunch so it was no issue we came after noon.

Cappuccino with maple sirup for sweetening
Banana pancakes reminding me of those in Sydney two and a half years earlier

We continued walking past some shops towards the national museum (národní muzeum), grabbing a coffee to-go and taking some pictures on the way.

We then proceeded our walk towards VSE (vysoká škola ekonomická), my exchange university for the semester.

After my buddy gave us a tour around campus, we realised we needed food again. In need for a salad and for lack of better restaurant knowledge, we chose Vapiano (yes, that Vapiano from the Vapiano food chain) as our place for dinner.

We stopped at some shops on our way home and I got a new shirt as well as a sixpack of Pilsner Urquell.

Ahoj!
