Paris, France

In early February, my girlfriend and I set out for a long weekend in Paris. It had been a while since I have been to the city, with the last time being a 3 week exchange programme as part of my high school french curriculum. Now older and wiser, I was excited to explore the city anew during early spring.
Having taken an early morning flight, we were hungry and ready for breakfast. Fortunately, there is a high density of great bakeries. The one that offered particularly tasty-looking delights and to which we would return time and again for the next days was “Artisan Boulanger Pâtissier ‘Pains d’artisan‘ “. we stopped to get some sandwiches and sweets before bringing our luggage to the hotel. The Quiche really was to die for.

We walked towards the Eiffel Tower and Grand Palais Éphémère, a convention centre where a huge car auction was taking place. Since entrance was free and I am a big fan of classic cars, we went in and ended up spending hours there. Here are some of my personal highlights.

Upon exiting the convention we took some pictures of and in front of the Eiffel Tower. However, if you are on the tower you cannot have the best view of Paris since you do not see the Eiffel Tower. We thus decided not to get up but instead walked around and looked at it from below.

After taking a couple of pictures together, we left the touristy area and walked northbound through Chaillot quarter. we had food in a bakery there and then continued our first day exploring Champs-Élysées and nearby Arc de Triomphe.
Since there was no queue we figured we’d have a look inside the Louis Vuitton exhibition. And while I certainly would not drop that kind of money on these items, some really had something interesting or special to them. A lot of the good stuff I did not take pictures of, unfortunately.

After this, we took a bus back to the hotel as we were quite tired from all the walking and exploring. We thus wanted to replenish our energies for the next day!
À bientôt!
